Wow the negative reviewers should try living in Cardiff! I couldn't be seen within four weeks there! Portway system is amazing, you log on at dead on 8am online and there are plenty of appointments all through the day and you can be seen within the hour! Unheard of elsewhere. Repeat prescriptions are also done with ease online. Best care and service I've ever received by NHS, I feel extremely lucky this is my local surgery.
Couldn't get an appointment yesterday (Monday) so rang dead on 8am today and they're closed this afternoon for "training" seriously this place is a mess!!! Training my ar*e!! I work shifts and getting up especially for 8am is not good, but I've been forced to call Wednesday now and if I don't get one I will be so mad! How on earth are they going to fill that eyesore of a place down the road I don't know, it's pathetic!
Shame I have to give it a one star rating - should be zero.Started when I transferred to this surgery. Last time I transferred practices, they obtained all my prescription details from my previous surgery - not Portway! Even though when I joined here, I spoke to the lady on the counter and explained I rarely visit the doctor other than when they call me, or for my REPEAT PRESCRIPTION, no mention was made that I would need to bring all my meds in so they could set up my prescription. I only found this out when I needed to top up my medication. Then, despite taking everything in, they STILL managed to miss the syringes for my insulin pens.Then it's been a case of incorrect items ordered for me, items deleted off my repeat because they've not been ordered within 3 months (100 in a box, 1 a day - I don't need to order within 3 months or I'll have more medication than Boots).The appointment system is laughable - there is none. Best just keep getting so ill they take you into hospital.My last two surgeries over the last 40 years have never caused me the slightest issue. I fail to understand how this place can get it so wrong
I have nothing but praise for this surgery. The staff are extremely helpful. There are 3 ways to make an urgent appointment, by phone, online or by going in person first thing in the morning. Non urgent appointments can also be made online, and I have always been seen for appointments on time.
